Dr. Emily KARA  serves as a Family Medicine Physician in Jiahui Health. After growing up and being educated in France, she came back to the UK for her university level study and graduated from Oxford University. Dr. Kara has over 15 years’ experience working as a doctor. She is registered with the UK General Medical Council (GMC) and has a license to practice in the United Kingdom. She has worked in many prestigious hospitals and primary care centres in Oxford, Cambridge and London and has gained valuable experience working in Beijing for almost 5 years at Oasis International Hospital and in the Harrow School Beijing medical clinic. The last 15 years has given her both training and a wealth of experience treating adults and children. 

Dr Kara’s main experience includes the management of chronic diseases (asthma, thyroid disease, diabetes) as well as more acute medical concerns such as infections and minor injuries. She also has a large amount of experience dealing with patients with mental health conditions and has helped many expats cope with anxiety and depression. With a diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she can provide gynaecology check-ups including cancer screening (pap smears, breast exams), STD (sexually transmitted disease) screening and can give contraceptive advice. 

As a UK-trained General Practitioner, Dr Kara understands the importance of continuity of care and will act as a health coordinator referring patients to specialists if needed in order to get their opinion about management options and treatment but will never discharge a patient from her care. She will continue to act as the patient’s primary physician and a point of contact for all health-related matters.
