Prof. X. John ZHANG serves as the Laboratory Director of the Fertility and Reproductive Medicine at Jiahui Health. Prof. John X. Zhang earned a BSc degree from Shandong Agriculture University in China and a Ph.D degree from the University of Sydney in Australia. After completing post-doctoral research in the University of Western Ontario, Canada, Prof. Zhang took up a faculty position, as Assistant Professor, at the University of Calgary, and IVF Laboratory Director at the University of Calgary Healthcare Center and Foothills Hospital. Prof. Zhang received MRC Scholarship award and stipend from Medical Research Council of Canada. Prof. Zhang was later recruited by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine with a full-professorship and served as the IVF Laboratory Director at Northwestern Medicine which is affiliated with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Prof. Zhang has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in the fields of Reproductive Biology and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, and has been awarded a patent by the US Patent Office for a non-invasive technology to evaluating human oocyte quality. Prof. Zhang is a certified High Complexity Laboratory Director (American Board of Bioanalysts, in accordance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act passed by US Congress in 1988), and has led one of the most successful academically affiliated IVF laboratories in Canada and in the US. Prof. Zhang has been back in China on numerous occasions since 1993 for lectures or collaborations with many research or clinical laboratories in Beijing and Jinan.
