Dr. Asai MIYAKO received her medical degree from Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, obtaining her medical license in 2004. She completed her residency program and psychiatric training at university hospitals in both Osaka and Nagoya, and was certified as a Designated Psychiatric Physician by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare in Japan in 2010 and as a Psychiatric Specialist in 2011.

During her more than 10 years of clinical practice, she has accumulated extensive experience in psychiatric treatment for a wide range of individuals, from children to the elderly. She has practiced within general hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and clinics, providing treatment and care for mild to severe mood disorders, general anxiety disorders, developmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), acute psychosis, dementia, and addiction. She has also provided consultation liaison services (i.e., specialized psychiatric care in collaboration with multiple disciplines) for inpatients with delirium and other co-occurring psychiatric and provided support for those returning to work after a leave of absence due to mental illness.

She not only diagnoses her patient's mental condition, but also listens to her patient's complaints, examines how the patient's environment and way of life have affected the symptoms that are present, and provides treatment through psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and pharmacotherapy. She stays close to patients with the aim to improve the patient's symptoms and quality of life.
