Education & Career

• Graduated from medical school in 1987; received his PhD in Oncology (Gynecology) from Shanghai Medical University in 1996.

• Completed postdoctoral training in molecular biology, pharmacology, and experimental therapeutics in the United States (2000–2002).

• Joined Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center in 1996; promoted to Professor in 2005; Doctoral Supervisor since 2006.

Clinical Expertise

Prof. Wu specializes in surgical and comprehensive treatment of cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, vulvar cancer, and other gynecologic malignancies. He has profound expertise in three key areas: complex gynecologic tumor surgery, fertility-sparing radical trachelectomy for young cervical cancer patients, and pharmacotherapy for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.

• Complex Gynecologic Tumor Surgery: Expert in maximal cytoreductive surgery (R0 resection) for advanced/recurrent ovarian cancer, and fertility-sparing radical trachelectomy for young cervical cancer patients. His proposed "Fudan Standard" for fertility-preserving cervical cancer surgery has been continuously cited and recommended by NCCN guidelines for many years. This work earned him the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2025) .

• Clinical Trials on Platinum-Resistant Ovarian Cancer: As principal investigator, he has led over 60 domestic/international multicenter clinical trials covering PARP inhibitors, anti-angiogenic agents, immunotherapy, and molecular biomarkers. At the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting, he presented the Phase III CHIPRO study (chiauranib plus weekly paclitaxel for platinum-resistant/platinum-refractory recurrent ovarian cancer) as an oral presentation. The study showed a median PFS improvement from 2.69 to 4.57 months, with a 57% reduction in the risk of disease progression or death, providing a Chinese solution for this clinical challenge.
