On September 16, 2025, Jiahui International Hospital, a leading international hospital in Shanghai and one of the city’s first high level medical institutions included in medical insurance pilot programs, announced a strategic collaboration with Tencent Healthcare. The agreement was signed at the Smart Healthcare session of the 2025 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit.
The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. John Hsiang, Chairman of the Jiahui Health Executive Committee, and Mr. Yan Peng, Vice President of Tencent Healthcare. Signing on behalf of Jiahui International Hospital was Mr. Wang Jian, Head of Medical Information Technology, while Mr. Xue Hualong, General Manager of Tencent Healthcare’s Smart Healthcare division, signed for Tencent Healthcare.
Both parties will leverage their core strengths in medical services and technology R&D, driving the adoption of smart healthcare throughout the entire medical ecosystem-- from cloud computing infrastructure to business scenarios, and focus on key areas such as digital therapeutics and AI healthcare service upgrades. This collaboration aims to create a more efficient, safer, and more human-centered medical experience for patients, thereby advancing the development of Shanghai's international medical sector.
Since its opening in 2017, Jiahui International Hospital has built its services to international standards and has been consistently recognized for clinical quality and patient care. For eight consecutive years, the hospital has served as the designated medical institution for the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Jiahui’s healthcare network, alongside Jiahui International Hospital, extends its reach through satellite clinics in Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and other key cities, delivering medical services and ensuring that residents have access to exceptional healthcare right in their communities. The decision to form a deep collaboration with Tencent Healthcare is a key strategic move for Jiahui International Hospital to advance its digital transformation.
Laying a Digital Foundation to Power a New Era of Smart Healthcare
Tencent Healthcare will provide the technical foundation for this initiative, leveraging its expertise in cloud computing and data security to help Jiahui International Hospital build a mainland China data center that meets strict medical industry standards. It will also provide stable computing power support and advanced large-model technical support, laying a solid infrastructure foundation for the implementation of smart healthcare.
The two parties will drive the deep integration of AI into clinical practice. This effort will include deploying AI-powered report interpretation and AI image analysis systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of diagnosis. It will also involve developing customized AI applications that augment the hospital's existing multidisciplinary approach to care, further strengthening its core advantage in specialized treatment.
Breakthrough Digital Therapeutics Pave the Way for End-to-End Health Management
Another key focus is on digital therapeutics (software used to treat medical conditions) for cognitive impairment. The two parties will jointly utilize the digital therapeutic product, Tencent Brain Training, in the field of cognitive impairment, through combining Tencent's technological core competencies with Jiahui International Hospital's clinical resources, and conducting research on early screening and intervention approaches to manage cognitive impairment. This initiative will lead to a new integrated service model that merges digital therapist with traditional healthcare.
In addition, the two parties will jointly create a smart patient service solution covering modules such as physical exam assistants, patient management, and digital therapeutics. This initiative aims to optimize healthcare workflows, simplify the patient journey, and—through a seamless integration of online services and offline care—establish an end-to-end digital solution spanning screening, intervention, and long-term management.
This partnership represents a key step in Jiahui International Hospital’s digital transformation. Leveraging Tencent’s technical expertise, the hospital aims to expand the boundaries of traditional medical services and further enhance both precision and patient experience.
