Jiahui Health Hosts Mass General Brigham Delegation in Shanghai, China
Jiahui Health recently welcomed guests from Mass General Brigham (MGB), led by Dr. Gerard Doherty (Surgeon-in-Chief) and Dr. Jiping Wang (Director, Minimally Invasive Gastric Surgery). MGB is a healthcare system that includes Harvard Medical School’s major teaching hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The visit commenced with a lively discussion, where Jiahui’s leadership team—Dr. John Hsiang (Chairman of Jiahui Health Executive Committee), Dr. Li Jun (Chief of Surgery), Dr. Xuan Linli (Chief of Medical Oncology), and Dr. Zhao Jianfei (Deputy Editor of NEJM:The New England Journal of Medicine)—hosted the MGB guests to provide a deep dive into clinical practice, collaboration, and medical progress at Jiahui International Hospital.
Dr. John Hsiang initiated the meeting by sharing Jiahui’s story: from its founding vision to eight years of growth, and he took a moment to thank MGB for a decade of impactful partnership that has shaped Jiahui’s journey.
Dr. Li Jun then detailed Jiahui’s surgical capabilities, walking through the team’s work across subspecialties and highlighting some of the most complex oncological surgery cases they’ve tackled. Dr. Doherty and Dr. Wang were impressed by the breadth of Jiahui’s surgical portfolio, noting how it reflects a level of expertise that stands out.
Dr. Zhao Jianfei wrapped up the discussion with a fascinating update: He shared Jiahui’s work in medical education and knowledge sharing, then noted a milestone—Chinese physicians are publishing more than ever in The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), a testament to growing global collaboration in research.
After the talk, the MGB team toured Jiahui International Cancer Center—from consultation rooms and day chemotherapy units to radiotherapy facilities and inpatient wards.
As Shanghai’s first international hospital, Jiahui International Hospital has embodied global standards—driven by a mission to connect patients with the world’s best care. By keeping the dialogue open with partners like MGB (and others across Europe, the U.S., Japan, and Singapore), we’re turning global expertise into local impact—faster, more effectively, and always with patients at the center.
