After waking up, you will be transferred to the day surgery ward. Once you meet the discharge criteria, the professional nursing team will carefully review your postoperative care instructions with you. Q：Can the outpatient consult and surgery be completed on the same day?
A：If the surgical plan is confirmed and the patient has completed the required preoperative tests and safety steps, such as fasting and not drinking fluids, both the initial consultation and the surgery can be scheduled on the same day. If the procedure requires preoperative steps like fasting, avoiding fluids, or bowel preparation, the earliest the surgery can be scheduled is the following day. In an emergency, the on-call surgeon will stay with the patient and the operation will proceed as soon as the patient meets the safety requirements.
